The Story Behind Our Round Table

"Great pizza starts with great people gathered around a great table."

Round Table Pizza was born in 2008 from a simple but powerful idea: that food is best when shared. Our founders, Marco and Elena Russo, emigrated from Naples with a single suitcase and a handwritten recipe book passed down through four generations of their family. They wanted to recreate those warm evenings around the family table — the kind where everyone talks too loudly, laughs too hard, and stays far too late.

Starting with a small wood-fired oven in a 400-square-foot space on West Broadway, they quickly earned a reputation for round table pizza crafted with imported San Marzano tomatoes, fresh-milled flour, and cheeses sourced from small-batch producers across Wisconsin and Italy. Word spread quickly through Minneapolis. Lines began forming before they even opened the doors.

Today, Round Table Pizza serves hundreds of families every week — but our commitment to the craft remains exactly as it was on day one. Every dough is hand-stretched. Every sauce is made fresh daily. Every pizza that leaves our kitchen is one we're proud to put our name on.

2008

The First Oven Is Lit

Marco and Elena Russo open Round Table Pizza in a modest 400 sq ft space on W Broadway, Minneapolis, with a single wood-fired oven and a family recipe passed down four generations.

2011

City's Best Pizza Award

Minneapolis City Guide names Round Table Pizza the city's best round table pizza, sending demand soaring and prompting the first major kitchen expansion to serve the growing crowds.

2014

Full Dining Room Opens

We take over the neighbouring unit, doubling our space and opening a 60-seat dining room. Our signature communal round table seating becomes a trademark of the experience.

2017

Catering & Events Launch

Responding to community demand, we launch our full-service catering and private events programme, bringing Round Table pizza traditions to weddings, corporate events, and celebrations across the Twin Cities.

2020

Home Delivery Introduced

We launch our own in-house delivery fleet, ensuring every pizza arrives hot, fresh, and exactly as intended — extending the round table experience directly to Minneapolis homes.

2024

Plant-Based Menu Expansion

We expand our menu with a dedicated vegan and plant-based section, ensuring that everyone — regardless of dietary choice — has a seat at our round table and something delicious to enjoy.
